2GB studio | DS1121: Architecture's Intervention Urbanism- Landscapes and Infrastructures

This studio examined the interrelationship between architecture and the city which deepens the understanding of ways in which architecture can both inform, and be informed by the urban fabric into which it is woven. Through full integration of design resources and research on various scales of operation, from housing to institutional and commercial building types which contribute to the formation of neighborhoods and public space. Students are encouraged to design into existing urban conditions with a full understanding of the dynamic and interdependent forces of economics- ethnicity-culture- society-politics and infrastructure that have shaped the contemporary city.
